Wanda Sue Miller

Mansfield, Missouri

Wanda Sue Miller, 81 years, 11 months, 4 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on August 18, 2025, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare in Ava, Missouri.

Wanda was born September 14, 1943, in Douglas County, Missouri to Thetus Jackson and Leona (Humbyrd) Hodges.

She was raised in the Douglas County community. She attended the Ava schools and graduated in 1961. She continued her education at Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri.

On February 20, 1966, Wanda and William "Tom" Miller were united in marriage at Marshfield, Missouri. They were blessed with two daughters, Brenda and Angela.

Wanda and Tom had moved to the quad cities and lived in Moline, Illinois for a few years to work and Brenda and Angela were both born there. They decided to move back to the Ozarks to Mansfield, Missouri.

Wanda was a fulltime mother helping raise the girls. Later she became employed with Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield. There she started as a laborer then retired years later as an accounting assistant.

Wanda was a Christian and attended the Nazarene Church in Mansfield with her family.

She was a devoted wife and mother. Wanda enjoyed crocheting and reading. She and her sister, Nadine traveled across the country. She delighted in being with her family.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Nadine Heatherly and Naomi Clouse; one brother, Glen Dale Hodges; her husband, Tom Miller; and her daughter, Angela Miller-Matlock.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kay Miller; two grandchildren, Nathan Quick and fiancé, Alexis and Natalie Emerick and husband, Trenton; four great grandchildren, Ellie, Nixie, Rilynn, and Konley; two sisters, Marian Roberts and Joann "Jo" Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Karen Hodges; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri. A private ceremony will be at a later date and time.
