St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Ward Breaux, 76, who passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at his residence.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening.
Monsignor Keith DeRouen and Father Buddy Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Briyanna Breaux, Cole Breaux and Kinley Breaux.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Ward was a devout Catholic and together with his wife, they were long-time parishioners of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. For many years, he worked with his father at Breaux's Bay Craft until 1983 when he and his brother, Vance established Breaux Brother's Enterprises. Ward was a board member with Iberia Bank and Aluminum and Stainless.
Ward's greatest passions were his family and hunting. In his spare time, he could be found at his camp, where he found the most peace. Ward was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, who had unconditional love for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie "Elaine" Landry Breaux; sons, Becket Breaux (Kim), Brannon Breaux (Ashley) and Bronson Breaux (Lisa); grandchildren, Cole Breaux, Cain Breaux, Ashlyn Breaux Marze (Hayden), Kinley Breaux, Leonidas Breaux and Briyanna Breaux; great-grandchildren, Landrie Marze and Banks Marze; and brother, Roy Breaux, Jr. (Ella).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Breaux, Sr. and Myrtle Suard Girouard; parents-in-law, Alfred and Lucille Landry; brother, Vance Breaux; and sisters, Joan Breaux Herring and Royce Breaux Gaudin.
Pallbearers will be Becket Breaux, Brannon Breaux, Bronson Breaux, Cole Breaux, Cain Breaux and Al Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie (Yoo) Bergeron, Chester Bergeron, Brock Romero, Hayden Marze and Paul Vital.
