Warren ("Puppsy") T. Boyce, age 92, was born in Salisbury on August 4, 1930 and died at Coastal Hospice Stansell House on November 17, 2022. He was the son of the late Arthur W. Boyce and Irma T. Boyce.
In 1952, after college, he joined his father's insurance and real estate business. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Joyce Ann Rayner. He served in the Army as a Cryptographer, Specialist 3rd class, in the 801st Engineer Aviation Battalion from 1954 to 1956 and in the Army Reserve until 1962. After his father's death in 1958, Mr. Boyce solely owned and operated The Boyce Insurance and Real Estate Agency until his retirement in 1985.
After his retirement he worked as an estate appraiser and continued to volunteer in community organizations. He was a charter member and past president of the Rockawalkin Ruritan Club. He was a member and past chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He served on the Advisory Board of the Blood Bank of Delmarva. He attended and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church all his life.
Warren ("Puppsy") had deep love for his family, church and community. He and wife Joyce were inseparable and along with time spent together, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. He was an avid Ravens football fan, and would not miss either attending a game or watching them on TV. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor, his kindness and his warm regard for others.
He was preceded in death by Joyce, his loving wife of 62 years, his son, Craig G. Boyce, and his granddaughter, Chelsea Boyce. He is survived by his son, Jack R. Boyce (wife, Vikki); son, Arthur W. Boyce (wife, Betsy); daughter-in-law, Joni Boyce Butler (husband, Mitch); and his grandchildren, Matthew R. Boyce, Megan McDowell (husband, Jeff), Emily C. Boyce, Ryan S. Boyce (wife, Rachel), Harrison L. Boyce, and Rebecca Stern (husband, Michael). He is also survived by great grandchildren, Savannah McDowell and Olivia McDowell.
Services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on November 26, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m.at the Church prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury. Afterwards, lunch and refreshments will be at the Jackson Memorial Building located near the Church.
Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Salisbury, Maryland, and/or The Salvation Army, Salisbury, Maryland and/or Coastal Hospice.
