Mr. Warren Eugene Greene, 68 of Ellaville, passed away suddenly at his home, from a heart attack, on December 25, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow in Ellaville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Royle, Kris Peek, Kenneth Peek, Jack Clark, Bill Swack, Gary Williamson and Tom Braddock.
Mr. Greene was born September 6, 1955, in Americus, Georgia to Aubrey Eugene and Neva Wisham Greene. He was a devoted member of Ellaville Baptist Church and a member of the Sunshine II Sunday school class. Mr. Greene was a machinist by trade and worked most of his life at Greenfield Metal Products/Amermac before his father passed away making him president of the company for 10 years, before it closed. He then began working for Austin Industrial with International Paper as a machinist, where he was currently employed. Mr. Greene was an avid outdoorsman, and loved nature, especially involving his grandchildren in the outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Greene.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Spann Greene of Ellaville; a son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Holly Greene of Ellaville; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Jimmy Edwards of Ellaville; thirteen grandchildren, Tucker, Katie and Hope Greene and Mikayla, Willie IV, Justin, Lizzy, Jedediah, AnnaBeth, Isaiah, Isabella, Sarah Kate, and Lucas Edwards; a sister, Pam Greene Register and her husband, Duane of Ellaville; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Williamson and her husband, Gary of Ellaville and Janet Spann Burks and her husband, Reggie of Preston, GA; favorite aunts, Eva Clark and Charlotte Greene; a niece, four nephews and numerous cousins and other family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Ellaville Baptist Church, PO Box 325, Ellaville, GA 31806 or Across the Map Missions and Ministries, 201 Memorial Mile, Americus, Ga. 31719.
