Wayne Edward Brumbley

Wayne Brumbley, 89, of Delmar, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born on August 18, 1932 in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of the late Louis and Lula Brumbley.
He graduated from Wicomico High School class of 1950. Wayne served in the US Army in Germany and while there Queen Juliana of Holland decreed that Holland would celebrate the 10 year anniversary of freedom from the German Army. Several countries were invited to send Color Guard. Wayne was picked to be one of 50 men to represent the United States of America. Wayne felt this as a great honor and he won first place in the marching.
When Wayne was six months old he was placed on the church roll at Zion United Methodist Church. At the age of 16 he joined the church and for the rest of his life he served his church faithfully on many committees.
Wayne drove School Bus Number 42 serving the Delmar School District for 44 years. Wayne was very active in his community playing fast pitch softball at Melson Church. He also volunteered with Delmar Little League as a coach and umpire.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years June; two sons, Alan (Bobbie) Brumbley and Mark (Dawn) Brumbley both of Delmar; four granddaughters, Heather (Justin) Abbott, Ashley Brumbley, Alison (Robert) Twilley, Erin (Joshua) Smith; grandson, Dylan Brumbley; four great-grandsons, Caleb Meyers, Travis Abbott, Trey Twilley, Blake Twilley; two great-granddaughters, Kendall Abbott, Olivia Twilley; a brother, Ralph Brumbley of Delmar; and a sister, Mary Jane Brumbley.
Wayne was preceded in death by his loving parents; two sisters, Martha Townsend and Thelma Adams a daughter, Janet Tull and grandson, Brian Tull.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 10am at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior starting at 9am. Pastor Courtland Cropper will officiate. Interment will take place at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 31104 Zion Road, Salisbury, Maryland 21804.
