Wayne J. Henry

MASSENA – Wayne J. Henry, 83, of Hough Road, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025 at his home.
Wayne was born at the family home on Hough Road on June 22, 1942, the son of the late James Orin and Anita L. (Castagnier) Henry and was a graduate of Massena High School. On April 13, 1964, he entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country as a Medic during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge on April 8, 1966. A marriage to Connie Marie Morris blessed him with three more children, and they always remained great friends.
Wayne first started working at Reynolds Metal before moving to Alcoa, where he retired as a foreman. He was a proud American Veteran who belonged to the American Legion, AMVETS and VFW. Wayne was a social butterfly with a very generous heart and spirit. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, bowling, betting on horses at OTB, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his children, Trent (Melissa) Henry of Virginia Beach, Todd Henry of Oklahoma, Tracy LaBarge of Massena, and Treina Puente of Massena; his beloved grandchildren, Travis, Trisha, Tristan, Gabrielle, and Payton; his great grandchildren, Madelynn, Owen, and Sophie; and his grand-puppy, Sky.
He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine (Tim) Garriques of Syracuse; his brothers, Dan (Marcia) Henry of Massena and Scott (Patty) Henry of Massena; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Barry LaPierre and Deb Tredo.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved dog, Balto.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Massena Elks Lodge on Wednesday from 4-7:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the local Disabled American Veterans or the Massena Humane Society.
