Lisa M. Gray

AKWESASNE – Lisa M. Gray, 62, passed away Monday evening, November 10, 2025 at Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital from complications of pneumonia.
Lisa was born on April 26, 1963 in Malone, the daughter of the late Abram J. and Gertrude (Adams) Gray. She attended Salmon River Central School, graduating in 1981.
Lisa was an electrician, worked on the road crew, and was also a Mohawk Teacher. She was an avid pool player and enjoyed crafting, and watching football. Lisa also loved to gamble, whether it was Tota Bingo, Radio Bingo, pull tabs, or sports board squares – she was a known winner. She cherished her time spent with friends and following her grandchildren's sporting events.
Lisa is survived by her children, Jason Gray (Ciele Samuel) and Stacey (German) Mitchell, all of Akwesasne; her beloved grandchildren, Cody, Cash, Camden, Kaydence, Kennan, Khloe, Kaleb, Keira, Ellie, and Tyren (Avery); her great grandson, Cole; her sisters, Leona (Terry) Francis and Virginia "Ginger" Gray; her brothers, Phillip Gray, Mike (Ann Marie) Gray, and Norman Gray; her late father's companion, Agnes Terrance, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Ashley Ann Gray on June 10, 2015; her siblings, Abram L. Gray on January 4, 2012 and Lori Gray on September 2, 2023; and her sister-in-law, Mary Gray on October 27, 2022.
Friends may call at the Akwesasne Homemakers starting at 2:00 PM, Thursday until 9:00 AM Saturday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Regis Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Pastores, officiating. Burial will follow in Kateri Cemetery.
