Wayne Montooth

Ronald Wayne Montooth age 79 of Loudon passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville, surrounded by his family. He was a longtime member of Stockton Valley Baptist Church. Wayne worked most of his life as an over the road truck driver. He spent more than 45 years on the open road and finally retired from Purdy Brothers Trucking Company. Wayne enjoyed watching football, spending time with his family and his loyal friend, Jerry.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Allen and Margaret Vareece (Kizer) Montooth; son, Randy Montooth; son-in-law, Tony Russell; brothers, James Edward Montooth and Larry Allen Montooth; niece, Cindy Montooth; and father-in-law, Walter Lee "Bud" Henderson.
Wayne is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Donna Henderson Montooth; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Kelly Montooth, Matthew and Allie Henderson; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Karl Ackermann; daughter-in-law, Kelli Montooth; grandchildren, Brandon and Mallory Russell, Ashley and Michael Craig, Alli Montooth and Travis Smith, Landry Montooth and Annsley Montooth; great grandchildren, Caroline, Cate and Callie Russell and Rylee Craig; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Jody Montooth, Eddie and Trudy Montooth; mother-in-law, Allene Henderson; brothers-in-law, Steve Henderson and Tommy Henderson; sister-in-law, Wishie Broussard; several nieces, nephews and special canine friend, Jerry.
Services to honor and remember Wayne will be held 7 PM Wednesday, October 25th in the McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Tony Arnold and Rev. Tim Watson officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Thursday in the Fooshee's Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers, Steve Clark, Wilton Richesin, Greg Montooth, David Keck and A.J. Hurst. Serving as pallbearers, Brandon Russell, Michael Craig, Matthew Henderson, Travis Smith, Seth Montooth and Jam Ferguson. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses following Wayne's very lengthy illness. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Highway 72 N, Loudon. Condolences may be left online at mcgillclick.com
