Wayne Travers

Wayne "Wayne-o" Travers, 71, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown surrounded by his beloved children.
Born on February 21, 1954, in Pearl River, NY, Wayne was the son of the late Joseph and Hazel (Krausser) Travers. Wayne served in the United States Marine Corps, he was deeply devoted to the values of service and camaraderie, often expressing his pride with a heartfelt "Semper Fi."
Wayne will be remembered for his boundless knowledge, quick wit, and storytelling that could captivate any audience. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and never let a conversation end without adding, "Just one more thing before you go."
Wayne leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever: his daughter, Jessica Travers, and his son, Jeffrey Travers (Megan); his grandchildren, Laney Travers, Alex Martinez Travers, Nick Martinez Travers, Taly Martinez Travers, Noelle Travers, Jenna Travers, and Taylen Travers; and his brother, Billy Travers (Sara), along with their child, Tian Travers. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Hazel Travers; his son, Keith Travers; and his faithful canine companion, Tonka Truck Travers.
In honor of Wayne's love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory-or in Tonka Truck Travers's name-to a local animal shelter.
A gathering to celebrate Wayne's life will take place on Wednesday, February 26 at the Horse & Sulky Pub & Grill, 809 Bloomingburg Road, Bloomingburg, NY from 5:00pm until closing. Friends and family are invited to raise a glass in his honor, with the understanding that all attendees will be responsible for their own food and beverages.
Wayne's love, humor, wisdom, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
