Wendy DeMarco Obituary

Wendy Elizabeth DeMarco, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born on March 31, 1950, in Tyler Minnesota, to Howard and Vera Polesky.

In her early years, Wendy moved with her parents and siblings – Cathryn, Vicky, and Jeff – to Millard, Nebraska, while her older brother, Doug, was serving in the U.S. Air Force. It was in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1968 that Wendy met Greg DeMarco, the love of her life. The two were married in 1969 and shared 56 wonderful years together. They were blessed with three children: Nicole (Anthony) in 1970, Jason (Tonya) in 1972, and Andrea in 1973.

When Greg joined the U.S Navy in 1972, Wendy faithfully walked alongside him as a Navy wife for 26 years. She excelled in many areas – first as a highly respected retail clothing manager and regional manager for Tempo Fashions of New York City, and later, at nearly 40 years old, pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated with top marks and served with skill and compassion in the family practice setting.

Above all, Wendy's heart was for the Lord and for people. She joyfully taught Sunday School for decades, sang in the church choir, and faithfully served her church family. She was known for her kindness, her steadfast love, and her devotion to her family.

Wendy is alive in Christ and now rests in His presence. She is survived by her husband, Greg, her three children, Nicole (Anthony), Jason (Tonya), and Andrea; her grandchildren, Aaron, Elliana, Lemuel, Kyle, and Ezekiel Esquivel; Isaiah and Naomi Roman; Trinity Emilsson; Angelina and Joey DeMarco; and her great-grandson, Shia. She is also survived by her siblings and a host of family and friends who loved her deeply.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2:00pm at Corinth Baptist Church, 3805 Corinth Church Road, Monroe, NC 28112.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to Corinth Baptist Church of Monroe in Wendy's memory.
