Wendy Dawn Matthewson, 54, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 P.M.- 3:00 P.M. at Reidsville Christian Church on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Wendy was born in Guilford County to Harold Ray Petty Sr and the late, Willa Dean Vernon Petty. She graduated from Northeast Guilford High School. Wendy loved family beach vacations, true crime tv, and medical tv shows. She was a loving dog mom to Rome and Oreo. Most of all she loved her boys and her family especially her grandson, Waylon.
Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Ray Petty Jr. and David Arlington Petty.
She is survived by her sons, Aaron Matthewson (Heather Wine), Ryan Matthewson (Casey Smith), and Ian Matthewson; father, Harold Ray Petty Sr.; grandson, Waylon Matthewson; honorary grandchildren, Bryan Brady and Kaylin Brady; siblings, Joey Lee Petty (Amber Lineberry) and Deana Petty Lovelace (Jerel); numerous nieces, nephews and a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reidsville Christian Church’s Youth Ministry at 220 South Park Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320.
