Wes McArtor, 67, of Cave Creek AZ, passed away on October 27th, 2024 at his home with his wife at his side after a courageous 20th month battle with Glioblastoma.
Wes was born on April 11, 1957, in Glendive Montana, to Jim and Barbara. He attended and graduated from Cody High School in Cody, Wyoming with the class of 1975. After he graduated, he joined the Marine Corps in September of 1975 where he served for 6 years. During his service he was stationed at Millington TN, where he was trained to be a jet engine mechanic. His last duty station was at MCAS El Toro, California. Wes was also assigned to the MCAS(H) Pistol range as a marksmanship instructor where he was given a meritorious mast due to his hard work, devotion, and overall improvements to the range and those assigned to his group. He was awarded a Good Conduct medal and was promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant meritoriously. He competed with the Marine Corps marksman pistol team. He was honorably discharged in 1981 and then moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where he started his career in the copier industry. He held several positions with CPT, Savin, Hutco and Konica/Minolta.
In 1988 he met his wife Lisa in Texas. They married in June of 1992 and enjoyed 32 years together. When they married, he became a father to Joshua. In 1993, their son Dakota was born. Also, in 1993 he started his own company, BEI Services, which was later known as Nexera. Wes ran his company until its sale in 2023. Wes was an avid competition pistol shooter, earning many awards, trophies and medals over the years. He loved snow skiing, water skiing, full throttle tubing, 4 wheeling and hunting with his family all over the world.
Wes was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Jetmore.
He is survived by his wife Lisa, son Joshua McMillen (Desi), Hutto TX, son, Dakota McArtor (Amanda), Cave Creek AZ, Grandaughter Jolene, Hutto TX, Parents Jim McArtor (Nancy), Cody WY, sister Shannan Peabody (Myron), Riverton WY, sister Ashli Koster (Troy), Cody Wy, brother, Brandon McArtor (Kelly), Gillette Wy and several nieces and nephews. Wes will be remembered for being able to MacGuyver just about anything, his giving spirit, determination and his desire to help people achieve their dreams. He always felt that he should share the blessings he had been given and he did so, often and touched the lives of many people.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Carefree Church in Cave Creek, AZ on February 22nd at 11 am. A celebratory scattering will be held on July 3rd in Cody, Wy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Barrows Neurological Institute to further cancer research and development of new medicine/technologies to combat this disease or to Hospice of the Valley.
