Funeral Services for Wilda Fuston will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the Church of Christ in Turkey, Texas. Interment will follow in Dreamland Cemetery.
Wilda Fuston was born on February 7, 1934 to proud parents, John and Hazel Noble of Breckenridge, Texas. She passed from this life last Sunday evening March 17, 2024. She was 90 years old. Wilda married the "Love of her Life," James Leckie Fuston on June 20, 1953. Together they built a life they loved. They had four children, 3 daughters; Charmaine, Laura, and Lana, and one son, Leckie. James and Wilda spent their life raising their kids, their grandkids and great grandkids, never moving off the home place, 3 miles south of Turkey.
Wilda was a Christian. She loved her Lord Jesus. She was a member of the Turkey Church of Christ since 1949. Wilda worked for Ferguson Insurance for many years and worked in the Turkey Bank for over 40 years. She was the Branch Bank president when she retired.
Mudgie was the ultimate hostess and cook. She always had a place at her table, she welcomed large and small groups in her home and always had delicious food prepared. She loved to cook and can foods. She was an active member of the Turkey Community. She was the church treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Lions Club. She was an active supporter of the FFA and 4-H programs of Valley School, Hall and Briscoe Counties. She was an honorary chapter member of the Valley FFA. She raised funds for the Valley Buyers Club for many years. Wilda was an active participant of the Bob Wills Foundation for many years also.
Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, James Fuston; her parents, John and Hazel Noble; a sister, Johnnie Buchanan, a sister, Jean Vaughn and a brother, Norman Noble.
Wilda is survived by her children, Charmaine Adamson and husband Rex of Lubbock, her son, Leck Fuston and his wife Lisa of Turkey, her daughter Laura Davidson and husband Jon of Turkey and her daughter Lana Burson and husband Bryan of Afton. Eleven amazing Grandchildren; Aaron Adamson and wife Amanda of Lubbock, Jamie Edwards and husband Ben of Idalou, Ashley Martin and husband Justin of Slaton, Lacie Paulson and husband Bryan of Monte Vista, Colorado, Zack Burson and wife Kendra of Silverton, Kye Fuston and wife Whitney of Guthrie, Dusty Burson and wife Kirsten of Panhandle, Macy Labrie and husband Billy of Southampton, Massachusetts, Molly Fairchild of Turkey, Mary Kate Chisum and husband Bailey of Jayton, and True Burson and wife Chelsey Lou of Paducah. Wilda is also survived by 34 beautiful great grandchildren, Trooper, Tally and Tenley Adamson, Cade, Ellie, Kass, Bodie, Tell and Poppy Edwards, Reese and Rhyan Martin, Bryson, Lizzie and Brent Paulson, Ryker, Kreese and Faylee Burson, Lyla, Krace and Davis Fuston, Shambry, Maggie and Byers Burson, Brooke, Caroline, Lydia and Megan Labrie, Trenton, Troy and Makenlee Fairchild, Ivy and Kent Chisum and Teal and Tap Burson.
She also has many cherished nieces and nephews that she counted as her very own children and her dearest cousin and friend Sandy Fuston.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Turkey Volunteer Ambulance and Fire Department or Dreamland Cemetery.
