Wilda Eleanor Grosskopf age 82 of East Canton passed away on November 21, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 25, 1942 in Clarksburg, WV. to the late Earl and Freda (Truman) Haynes. She spent most of her life in the Osnaburg Township community raising her family and building strong relationships with many friends in the community.
Wilda was the business manager of DHS-Containers which was founded by her and her late husband Daniel Grosskopf. She had previously graduated from Spencer High School and continued her education to receive her associate degree in business. Wilda was an avid sudoku puzzler, big fan of Days of our Lives, loved to visit the casinos when she could and play the slot machines. She truly loved to give advice and talk to her family on the phone. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.
Wilda is preceded in death by her husband Dan, who she married on May 17, 1974; great grandson Damian Isaac Shannon and her sister Violet Joyce Cottrell.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children Diana (Mary) Spain, Sherri (Russ) Cole, Donnie (Crystal) Ray, Susan (Mike) Handy, Heather Prosperi; grandchildren Jason and Jordan Handy, Misty Denen, Tarah and Kerry Shannon, Alyssa Pearson, Dominic, Sophia and Nico Prosperi, Leeann Jensen, Amber and Kyle Ray and her brother Roger (Pam) Haynes and six great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Sanders Funeral Home, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wilda’s funeral service will begin immediately after the visitation at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Bob Cameron. Interment at Mapleton Cemetery will take place following the funeral service.
