Willard "Buddy" Ray, Jr., 75, died December 8, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born January 18, 1950, in Manila, AR, to Willard D. and Virginia "Jenny" (Lilly) Ray.

On June 17, 1978, Buddy married the love of his life Brenda K. Zahn, in Hutchinson. They had three amazing children: Brandi Mechelle, Heather Marie and Justin David.

Buddy worked for over 27 years at Consolidated Manufacturing. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, especially Bonanza, and movies with his children and grandchildren.

Buddy is survived by: his wife of over 47 years, Brenda of Hutchinson; daughters, Brandi Parks of Mountain Home ID, and Heather Fogt (Chris) of Fairview, TX; son, Justin's partner, Deidra Rosenberger of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Caleb Parks, Joshua Parks, Megan Fogt, Brady Fogt, Harper Ray, Briley Ray, Emma Rosenberger, and Maecy Rosenberger; niece, Lori Krichati of Wichita; nephews, Ricky Kincy and Cameron Kincy; mother-in-law, Kaylene Zahn, all of Hutchinson; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Justin David Ray; sisters, Sue Bailey and Marilyn "Micky" Jones (Wayne); nieces, Tyra Bailey, Suzy Rasnic, and Brenda Risher; and father-in-law, Leonard Zahn.

Funeral service will be 11;00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Kendall Sheats officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2025, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation will follow the service.

Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
