William Barton Anderson

William "Bill" Anderson, a lifelong resident of Canton, Ohio, passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on March 23, 1952, Bill spent his entire life in the community he cherished. He was a proud 1970 graduate of Oakwood High School and went on to build a dedicated 43-year career with Republic Steel, where he formed many friendships and earned the respect of coworkers who knew him for his strong work ethic and steady reliability.

Bill lived a full and joyful life, defined by the things he loved most: the open road on his Harley Davidson, peaceful days spent at the beach, and rounds of golf shared with friends and family. A passionate lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, Bill rarely missed a game and carried an unwavering loyalty to his team through good seasons and bad. He was also deeply committed to his community, spending many years actively involved in Holly Hills youth baseball, where he mentored young players and supported the program with enthusiasm and heart.

Above all, Bill treasured his family. The time he spent with his grandchildren was among his greatest joys, and he was known for lighting up whenever he talked about them.

Bill is survived by his longtime partner, Cindy Clapper; his children, Aaron Anderson and Melissa Cannata (James); and his cherished grandchildren, Alexa, Justus, Erika, and Caydence. He was blessed with a great-grandson, Carson, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a great-granddaughter.

He is also survived by his bonus children, Jessica Jones (Jasin) and Max Clapper (Devin), along with bonus grandchildren Jayme Kate, Jordyn, Gianna, Maddix, Maverick, Brianna, and Anthony. Bill leaves behind four brothers and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Anderson, as well as two brothers and one sister. He is reunited with them now, held close once again.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Bill's life on Friday, November 28th, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Michael D's in Canton.

Bill's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family and community will remain forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
