WILLIAM KENNETH “BILL” LAWSON, 61, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 in Aiken Regional Medical Centers with his loving family by his side.

Bill was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken. Born to the late Robert and Faye Roberson Lawson, he graduated from South Aiken High School, where he proudly played on the championship baseball team during his senior year in 1982. Bill had a deep passion for sports; he not only enjoyed them but also dedicated his time to coaching and sharing his love for athletics with others. An avid golfer and marathon runner, he embraced physical challenges throughout his life.  He was also a fan of Atlanta Braves baseball.

Above all, Bill was a devoted family man. His love for cooking and caring for his family was evident in everything he did. He will be remembered fondly for his warm heart and nurturing spirit. Bill retired from the Savannah River Site.

Surviving are his three daughters, Kristina Wise (Greg), Aiken, Brooke Lawson (Joe Silvano), Charlotte, NC and Abigail Lawson, Charleston, SC; two granddaughters, Layla and Ella Wise and his brother, Scott Lawson (Becky), Marietta, GA. Bill is also survived by his former wife and eternal friend, Dana Lawson.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon, May 23rd beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 o’clock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Tee of Aiken (firstteeaiken.org).
