Mr. Robert Thomas "Rob" Blackburn

Robert "Rob" Thomas Blackburn, 61, entered into rest on April 3, 2025.
Rob was born on November 13, 1963, in Wilmington, Delaware and lived there until December 1973, when he moved to Aiken, SC. He graduated from South Aiken High School in 1982 and earned a diploma in Automotive Technology in 1984 from Aiken Technical College.
Rob was a proud volunteer fireman with the Graniteville Volunteer Fire Department. His commitment to helping others and serving his community was a defining part of his life. Whether responding to emergencies, lending a hand to neighbors in need, or helping those less fortunate, Rob found purpose and fulfillment in giving.
Outside of service work, Rob had a passion for cars, especially Chevrolet Camaros. He restored and customized many 1967 and 1969 Camaros and loved driving them. As a young man he also enjoyed drawing.
He was an avid motorcyclist that enjoyed riding with family and friends, starting with dirt bikes and off-roading before moving on to a Gold Wing and eventually a Harley Davidson. As a member of the Harley Owners Group, he made multiple trips to Bike Week in Daytona Beach.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters; Taylor Blackburn (Marcus Bennett) and Danielle Blackburn (Abel Elvira), his mother, Peggy Wade Garvin (Frank), his sister Michele Blackburn Pearman (Paul), his best friend, Carrie Blackburn, and his family's cats, Licorice, Sushi, and Angel. His legacy lives on through them and the many lives he touched with his generosity, dedication, and love.
