Mr. William “Bill” Calvin Sikes, entered into rest on Monday, February 3, 2025 at the age of 82. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Mt. Croghan Memorial Park by Reverend Harold Cooke and Reverend Dewayne Evans.
Mr. Sikes was born on December 4, 1942 in Florence, SC, to the late Tracy Emmett and Analiza Caroline Burch Sikes. “Bill” was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. He was co-owner of the Mt. Croghan Service Station and later worked in the textile industry. "Bill" enjoyed being active in his beloved community of Mt. Croghan, volunteering to meet needs and help keep things neat through the Palmetto Pride clean-up project. Of most things, he was proud of his nieces and was also an avid University of South Carolina Gamecocks fan.
Mr. Sikes was preceded in death by his parents Tracy Emmett and Analiza Caroline Burch Sikes; brother, Glynn Burch Sikes; brother-in-law, Ronny W. Cato; sister, Sylvia Sikes Cato.
He is survived by his nieces, Rhonda Cato (Mike) Graves of Pageland, Tamera Sikes (Reverend Harold) Cooke of Dillion, SC, Glenda Sikes Freeman and Caroline Sikes Tyler both of Chesterfield, SC; sister-in-law, Billie Lisenby Sikes of Chesterfield, SC; aunt, Nancy Burch Mangum of Pageland, SC; great nephews and nieces, David Michael (Emily) Graves of Bethune, SC, Ryan Lynn Graves of Pageland, SC, Grant Emmett (Kristin) Cooke, Nicholas Ryan (Toni) Cooke both of Chesterfield, SC, Chase Armfield (Lauren) Freeman of Columbia, SC, Lanie Freeman (Austin) Bradshaw of Fort Mill, SC, Jonathan Moises Freeman, Trace McKinley Tyler both of Chesterfield, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Mt. Croghan Museum (PO Box 3, Mt. Croghan, SC 29727).
