William "Bill" Spencer, 79, of Layton, UT, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 16, 2024. Born on January 17, 1945, in Ogden, UT to Clyde and Alice Spencer, Bill grew up in Washington Terrace, where he formed lasting friendships and spent most summer nights under the stars camping out in their sleeping bags.

Bill graduated from Bonneville High School in 1963 and then proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After returning, he married his lifelong sweetheart, Pamala Hall Spencer, on June 24, 1969, and continued to dance throughout all of their adventures in those 55 years. Their marriage is one for the ages and admired by many.

Bill dedicated 45 years to the Postal Service as a mechanic, living by the motto, “If you don’t have time to do it right, when are you going to have time to do it over?” He had a love for all things outdoors, enjoying snowmobiling, razor riding, camping, and boating. Music was always a huge part of his life, whatever he was doing…wherever he was at…his tunes were always playing…whether it be sitting out on his patio having an iced tea or downstairs in his garage doing some tinkering.

The strongest guy we know, Bill bravely battled through three bouts of cancer. His strong character, quick wit, and infectious smile made everyone around him feel special. He never met a stranger. Known for his humor, he always had a joke ready (even if it was a dirty one), always the best “neck breakers” and a great back scratch to those he cherished. He was a good son, great husband, and even better Dad & Papa. His family meant everything to him.

Bill is survived by his wife Pamala. Two children, SharRee Lowe and Mitch (Shamra) Spencer; five grandchildren, Dax (Ashtyn) Lowe, Nick Lowe, Brie Spencer, Mason Lowe, Brody Spencer, a great-granddaughter on the way, and last but not least his loyal pup, Lulu.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road Layton, Utah

Bill’s spirit and big smile will live on in our hearts forever and after. “Keep smiling…fresh air is good for your teeth.” We will miss you every minute until we ride again…..
