Mr. William Donald Birdsong, age 85, of Thomaston, died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Birdsong was born on August 16, 1938, in Thomaston, Georgia, to the late Joe Burns Birdsong and the late Ellen Hayes Birdsong. He served his country in the United State Marine Corps. Mr. Birdsong worked as a general contractor and was one of the original co-owners of Turkey Creek Snacks. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Dunn Birdsong of Thomaston, daughter, Allison (Matt) Livingston of Thomaston, son, Steve Birdsong of Thomaston, sister, JoEllen Holloway of Thomaston, special friends, Kayla and Joel Burke, Dante Davison, Nancy Lee, Kathy Taunton, Maryann Caldwell, M.J. and Mary Alice Skipper, and special companion Coco.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Upson County Humane Society at 2371 Yatesville Hwy Thomaston, Georgia 30286.
