William L. Blizzard Sr.

William "Bill" L. Blizzard Sr., 77, of Carneys Point also known as Uncle Bill passed away on January 5, 2024. After graduating Penns Grove High School in 1965, he attended trade school and then went on to work as a mechanic for Dupont's in Newport. Throughout his seventy-seven years Bill enjoyed cooking, camping, at Yogi Bear and Four Seasons Campgrounds. He also enjoyed going to auctions, working on cars and going to car shows, bowling and shooting pool with his nephew Del Holmes. Bill also looked forward to traveling, spending time and taking road trips with his wife Debbie. Finally, for many years, he coached soccer and softball for Pennsville Recreation, enjoyed the holidays, especially Halloween and Thanksgiving and without saying all the times he spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Debra (McCauley); his children, William Jr. and his wife Tricia, Sarah Blizzard and Del Holmes and his wife Steph, who was his nephew but thought of him as a son and his sister Barbara Chomo and her husband Steve, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his dog, Toastie. Bill is also survived by Debbie's siblings, John McCauley and his wife Cindy, Linda Rider and her husband Jaime, James McCauley, Michael McCauley and his wife Shanna, Michele Laphan and her husband Tom and Jay Maynor and his wife Lori Lynn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Charles "Sonny" Blizzard, Jr. and his wife Cathy, a sister, Shirley Kardos and her husband Frank, his father and mother-in-law, John Sr. and Virginia McCauley as well as his dog Pepper.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ 08098. The viewing will begin at 10:30 AM with the service following at 12 PM. Burial will take place at Lawnside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be sent to the Penns Grove VFW Post #8840, 100 Margarett Street, Penns Grove, NJ 08069 in Bill's Memory. www.adamsfuneralhome.org
