John Dennis Ashmore, 72, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 at home, with his family, after an 8 year battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Spokane, Washington to his parents Marvin (Joseph) and Joan (Lakee) Ashmore; where his father was stationed in the US AIR force. John lived a life full of adventures from monster trucks to race cars and motorcycles to having three beautiful daughters he adored and four wonderful grandchildren. He spent most of his life doing custom auto-body and paint work after graduating the top of his academic and vocational classes at Camden County Vo Tech in 1971. John was always smiling, laughing, and cracking jokes, but he was also full of compassion, love, great advice, and would be the first one to give you the shirt off of his back while expecting nothing in return. He told his daughter Crystal "I had a great life, I lived it in the fast lane, and I have a beautiful family, how lucky am I?!" John is survived by his daughter Crystal Rainier (Greg), his daughter Nikolle Ashmore, his grandchildren Sophia, April, Bennett, and Jovanni, his brothers Joe Ashmore (Lia) and Jimmy Ashmore (Lillian), his nephews Jason, Jonathan, Miles, Ross, and his niece Isabelle. He was predeceased by his daughter Sarah Ashmore, mother Joan Ashmore (Lakee), and father Marvin (Joseph) Ashmore. A celebration of his wonderful life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 12pm-3pm at Star Cross Fire Hall, 4231 Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ 08094. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to help cover funeral expenses via Venmo (User ID @crystal-rainier); all other expressions of sympathy are accepted as well. www.adamsfuneralhome.org
