William E. Boffa passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on May 16, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith (Cicchitelli) Boffa.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arturo and Elvira (Spaziano) Boffa.
He is survived by his loving children: Jean Boffa-Colardo, William A. Boffa and his wife Michelle, Gloria Turchetta and her husband Dr. Louis Turchetta, James E. Boffa and Martha Boffa; his cherished grandchildren: Dr. Louis W.Turchetta and
his wife, Dr. Stephanie Petricone Turchetta, Dr. Alexander Turchetta, Ross Colardo, Danielle DeCoste and her husband Daniel, Eric Boffa, Evan Colardo, Nicholas Turchetta and James E. Boffa II. He also had 3 special great grandchildren: Grayson, Griffin and Georgi. Bill was also the dear brother of the late Armando, Emilio and Raymond Boffa and brother-in-law to his special sister-
in-law, the late Jennie Beattie. He was also father-in-law to the late Aggie Carbone Boffa and Richard Colardo.
Bill was a WWII Army Veteran (Technical Sergeant) with many distinguish service awards for his over 500 hours of combat in the Southwest Pacific. He was awarded the "Distinguished Flying Cross," the "Good Conduct Medal" and the "Air Medal" during his time in service.
For most of his working career Bill was an insurance agent for John Hancock. He
also held a stockbroker's license and real estate license. To his insurance clients Bill was like family and was the top salesman for John Hancock for three years prior to his retirement.
Bill was above all else, a family man. His greatest love was his wife Edie with whom he shared a very close relationship. They were inseparable. He was also an incredible dad, making cakes and cookies for his 5 children after school, driving them through their paper routes and to and from school.
For years Bill helped Edie cook the family dinners. For him cooking was fun. He always tried to beat the time it took him to make something previously. After Edie's untimely death, he kept the family
together making family meals every Sunday for many, many years.
Bill was there for his family whenever they needed him. If they were sick, he'd bring soup or lentils. If they needed a ride somewhere, he was right there, always lending a hand to make things easier. Bill was a very active man in his retirement. He was an avid tennis player, walked on the track with his friends and went to the gym daily for over 35 years. Bill was an intelligent man with an incredible memory. Up until the day he died he remembered everyone's birthday and would delight in calling his nieces to wish them a very special day. They were always amazed that he remembered and delighted to hear from him.
With an incredible sense of humor and a sparkling personality he made everyone feel special. This reflected his true essence, He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed. We were very fortunate
to have had him in our lives for so many wonderful years!
A private burial will be held at St. Ann's Cemetery in Cranston, R.I

To the Boffa Family....I was saddened to read that your father has passed away. I remember your Dad whistling a happy tune whenever he would give a helping hand with the paper route along Barbara Street! He was always a pleasant man, and neighbor! May you all find peace knowing he was well remembered by so many fond memories! My thoughts are with you during this most difficult time...
