William Rodney Bruhl

William "Rodney" Bruhl saw Jesus face to face on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the age of 77.

Rodney was born in Mobile, Alabama, on November 27,1946 to Frank "Buddy" Bruhl and Carrie Seibert Bruhl. Rodney, a longtime resident of Saraland, AL, suffered a debilitating head injury at the age of 15. Neither he nor his parents let that dampen his enthusiasm for life. They made it their mission to give him the best possible, most well-rounded life they could - a true testimony as to how much he was loved.

Rodney immensely enjoyed playing with his brother and sister, cousins, nieces, nephews and the family bird dogs. Rodney helped his daddy feed and water the guineas they raised and hunted with him. At Satsuma High School, he played the cornet and drums in the band and attended a school dance or two.

Rodney particularly enjoyed traveling with his parents to different parts of the country.

Probably his most favorite destination was his uncle Lannie's fishing camp at Crosset, Arkansas, where he developed his love of fishing over many, many memorable fishing trips over the years.

Rodney's second most favorite travel destination was Magnolia Springs, AL., where his family owned a home right on the Bay. He could tell you all about the natural mysteries of a Jubilee and witnessed many of them, always more fascinated by the bounty that washed up on the shore next.

Despite family pressure to cheer for Alabama or Arkansas, his decades of devotion to the Florida Gators football team never faltered.

Although Rodney spent most of his adult life in nursing home facilities, he continued to embrace life with innocence, fun, love, kindness and humility. He saw the good in everyone. It is only fitting that he donated his corneas so that someone else could see the beauty surrounding each of us.

Rodney was preceded in death by his loving and devoted parents, Carrie Augusta Seibert Bruhl and Frank "Buddy" William Bruhl, one brother, Marvin C. Seibert (Odelle C. Seibert, d.2017) numerous aunts, uncles, and nephews, Barry L. Seibert (Sandy M. Seibert, d. 2018) and Timothy S. Seibert.

He is survived by his devoted sister, Bernice S. Coleman (Luther W. "Billy" Coleman, d.1989) of Mobile, AL.; three nieces, Cynthia R. Seibert, Brenda C. (Roy) Dreibelbis, and Joanna S. Weaver; many cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

His life was infinitely enriched by the love and devotion shown to him by his parents, brother and sister. He will always be missed, until we see him again.

To honor the memory of Rodney, his family will hold a visitation for friends on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with a graveside service at Mobile Memorial Gardens beginning at 1:00 pm with Reverend Paul Montalvo officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Snow Road First Baptist Church Youth Department.
