William "Buddy" Monroe Widenhouse

William “Buddy” Monroe Widenhouse III, 72, of Monroe, passed away on Thursday August 14, 2025. He was born in Cabarrus County, NC on February 17, 1953, son to the late William Monroe Widenhouse Jr. and Dorothy McLain Widenhouse.

He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time with his beloved dogs, Izzy, Gabbie, and Sadie, traveling to his favorite getaway in Charleston, and enjoying the leisure of his retirement. An avid golfer, he could often be found with a club in hand or relaxing in his building, sharing stories and laughter with friends. His easygoing spirit and love for companionship made every day brighter for those around him.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00PM on Saturday August 16, 2025, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe NC 28112. The family will receive friends following the service.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife Rita Allman Widenhouse; two sons, Ryan Widenhouse (Shelley) and Seth Widenhouse (Allie); a brother, Mike Widenhouse and granddaughter, Kinley Widenhouse.
