William Canipe, born February 12, 1953, age 72, of Centerburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved more than anything. He served in the U.S. Air Force in his younger years and later worked and retired at Ariel Corporation. He often said his family and his home were everything he could need or want.
Bill was a man of few words, but no one questioned how deeply he loved. His quiet strength and witty sense of humor made him someone you just wanted to be around. He was simple in the best of ways and was happiest just sitting with family and friends (Dave and Peg Wiley). He is survived by the love of his life, his wife and best friend, Debbie Canipe. The home he and Debbie created together wasn't just a place-it was the heart of their world, and the owners of the countless footprints (and paw prints) through its rooms.
He leaves behind his daughters, Angie Griffith (Rusty Griffith), Keri Stopher, and Savannah Breckler (Jamie Breckler), as well as his cherished grandchildren Devon, Shelby, Hallé and Landon (Angie and Rusty Griffith), Trenton, Kori, Tristan (Keri Stopher), Zoie (Savannah Breckler) and 10 great-grandchildren-all who brought him joy every single day. He also leaves behind his father-in-law Harold Robertson; siblings, James "Jim" Canipe, Melinda Billips, Joey White and brothers/sister-in-law Saundra and Rich Dove, Jeff Robertson, and Donnie and Becky Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace White; his brother, Tom Canipe; and his mother-in-law, Louise Robertson.
Bill lived the kind of life that proves you don't have to say a lot to be deeply known and forever loved. He will be missed more than words can say.
An inurnment with military honors will take place in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio at a later date.
