Moultrie, Georgia – William Gary Carter, 78, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care in Tallahassee, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating. Private interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 PM, Thursday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born February 11, 1947, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was a son of the late Jack Osmus Carter and the late Mary Evelyn Crumly Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Jack Carter, Sr. and sister, Marsha Watson.
He faithfully served in the United States Army, retiring after 25 years, with the rank of Sergeant, was a welder and truck driver, and enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Jody Katherine Manley Carter; daughter, Jeanna Carter; grandchildren, Justin Sprouse, Jason Tyler Sprouse, Kyle Williams, Paul Jack Carter, Jr. and Ella Reese Carter; great-grandchildren, Joshua Sprouse and Ari Sprouse. He is also survived by other extended family.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
