Talcott Broadus Creech Jr, 97, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the home of his son, Eddie Creech, in
Moultrie, Georgia. A man of deep faith, Talcott never missed an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with anyone who would listen. He was faithfully involved at Conley First Baptist (now Brushy Knob) as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for over 60 years. He was also a skilled athlete, proudly winning the South Carolina state horseshoe championship. He was also offered a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina to play football and baseball but chose instead to serve his country faithfully in the U.S. Army. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Talcott moved to Columbia, SC, upon marrying his beloved wife, Cynthia, in 1949. In 1963, they relocated to Forest Park, Georgia, where he lived until January 2025. Talcott began his career as an insurance salesman before joining Jim Dandy, where he worked for 35 years until retirement. His exceptional salesmanship earned him the affectionate nickname "Mr. Jim Dandy." Talcott had a remarkable talent for fixing nearly anything-electrical, plumbing, or automotive-skills he learned from his father, a full-time automotive mechanic. He channeled these abilities into a small business, crafting folding wooden tables inspired by a design he encountered while traveling in Germany. He also restored discarded lawnmowers, either reselling them or donating them to those in need. Talcott and Cynthia were avid world travelers, visiting nearly every continent and all 50 states. His favorite destinations included Ireland, Switzerland, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. A devoted family man, Talcott cherished sharing wisdom with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving a legacy of encouragement for generations to come. He was a loving husband to Cynthia, his wife of 75 years, a father to five children, a grandfather to 12, and a great-grandfather to 13, all of whom deeply loved and admired him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Known for his warmth, Talcott never met a stranger and cherished Friday nights playing Rook with family and friends. Talcott is now rejoicing in his Heavenly mansion, a reward for his faithful tithing and unwavering devotion to his faith. Talcott was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Creech, his parents, Ruby and Talcott Creech, Sr and siblings, Bobby Creech, Richard Creech and Patricia Berry. He is survived by his daughter, Gayle (Sid) Lyell; sons, Eddie (Mary Ann) Creech, Don (Sandy) Creech, Stanley (Deborah)Creech, and Kevin (DeAnn) Creech.
