William Francis "Bill" Casper

William Francis "Bill" Casper, age 81, of Malvern, PA, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2022. Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late John F. and Isabelle R. Melancon Casper.
Bill earned his engineering degree from Northeastern University and his graduate degree from Purdue University. He began his career with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (PWA) in East Hartford, CT, and then distinguished himself in the field of Engineering Sales during his time with Reliance Electric/Rockwell Automation. Bill was a member of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee (PCIC) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). From 1976 until his retirement, he served on various committees, and in 1996 and in 2006, when the IEEE-PCIC Conference was held in Philadelphia, PA, Bill served as conference chairperson. With his spouse and conference colleagues (who later became lifelong friends), he traveled extensively throughout the USA and Canada.
Bill is survived by his wife, Dianne Karnolt Casper; daughters, Wendy Casper (Roger Duval) and Susan Casper; and sister, Gail Casper Defelice.
Bill enjoyed a good round of golf. Bill and Dianne were active members at Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern, PA. Bill was also an avid bridge player and an enthusiastic Red Sox fan. Along with his wife Dianne, Bill enjoyed hosting house parties where he kept their guests engaged and entertained as the master of ceremony. Bill's grand dogs brought special joy in his later years.
A Celebration of Life Service for Bill will be held on September 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Grove United Methodist Church, West Chester, PA with a luncheon to follow.
