William D. Colgan, age 67, of Media, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on November 3, 2024. Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late David and Eleanor Colgan (nee Kerr).
Will was a resident of Upper Darby for over 60 years. He cherished everything about the town and was always involved in the community. His love for “Hoops” throughout his life was often shown whether it was playing up at the fields with his lifelong buddies, going to local high school and college games, and coaching at St Laurence. Will loved going for his daily walks up and down “the Pike” throwing a hand wave up to all that beeped at him. He enjoyed watching all Philadelphia sports, but especially loved listening to the Phillies out on the deck with his “Di”, and always with a BUD in hand. His love for his kids and grandkids was unmatched, and they will forever be reminded of their Papa Will.
William was the beloved husband of the late Diane Colgan (nee Rush); loving father of Jackie Elentrio, Katie Russo (Tom), and Kevin Colgan (Angela); adoring grandfather of Gianna, Luca, Mila, Emma, Avery, and Sophia; caring brother of Pat McRae (Bill) Mike (Patty) Monica Conner (Rick), Terri Colgan, Sr. Denise Colgan, RSM, Joan Kane (Jim), Anne Wellman (Jimmy), Tom (Barbara), and Dan Colgan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to William’s Viewing 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 and 9:00-10:00 AM on Friday, November 8, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.
