The man who loved a good fishing trip and always had a kind word to share, William Delwin Craig, passed away on April 8, 2024, at his home in Gilmer, Texas. Born in Longview on January 16, 1942, to Delbert and Kathleen Craig, he found joy in the simple things in life, surrounding himself with the love of his family and friends.

William grew up in Pritchett, Texas where he attended Gladewater ISD from kindergarten to graduation and was a proud graduate of Gladewater High School. Known to many as a skilled machinist, he always worked hard to support his family.  He cherished his time spent at the Gladewater Opry, where he could revel in the music and entertainment that sparked joy in his heart. His unwavering faith as a devoted Christian guided him through life, providing a strong foundation for his values and beliefs.

William is survived by his bonus son, Jerry Lee Eddleman of California; bonus daughter, Darla Ferguson and spouse Ronnie of Pritchett, Texas; bonus grandchildren, Jake Ferguson and Cody Ferguson as well as his bonus great-grandchild, Hadley Ferguson.

William is preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Craig and his parents.

With his warm smile and gentle spirit, William touched the lives of all who knew him. In remembrance of his life and the love he shared, a funeral service will be held at the Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation just prior starting at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow at Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater, Texas
