William E. Crane, 76, of Graytown, OH passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by family at Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon, OH. He was born on June 2, 1948 in Toledo, OH to Robert L. and Daisy Hope (Downey) Crane. On August 31, 1968 in Toledo, OH he married Kathleen Peace, and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2009. William worked for Power Train for 30 years before retiring. He loved buying new trucks and the fun of wheeling and dealing with the local car dealers and trading last year's model in. When he was younger, he liked to rebuild motorcycles, fishing, camping, archery, and firearms. In his later years Bill lived with his daughter and her family. He enjoyed watching YouTube videos of car builders, playing Clash of Clans, daily conversations with his sister, Julie, his friend Jeremy and grandkids Rick and Katherine. Bill also enjoyed taking grandkids on daily grocery shopping trips. Bill was a caring person at heart, and continued caring for his disabled son Darrell, after his wife's death. His grandkids are going to miss the relationships they've built with him and having him in their lives.
William is survived by his daughter, Charlene (Chuck) Rook of Graytown, grandchildren, Meridian (Joey) Smith, Jason (April) Rook, Rick Rook, Katherine Rook, Jennie Rook, Carla (Joe) Graves, Sally Rook, Cody Rook, Tyler Rook, Michelle Rook, and Markus Barker, 6 great grandchildren, sister, Julie Cassis, brother, Ron (Sue) Crane, sister-in-law, Sue Crane, brother-in-law, Rick Peace, and close friend, Jeremy Kitchin, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Darrell Crane, and several siblings.
