William R. Curfman, 90, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Shook Home in Chambersburg. Born August 29, 1932 in Homer City, PA, he was a son of the late William M. and Margaret (Kramp) Curfman. His beloved wife of 68 years, Sandra M. Mumper Curfman, preceded him in death on January 20, 2021.
Bill was a 1950 graduate of Fannett-Metal High School. He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in inventory with the Ammunition Department. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg where he and his wife volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Bill was an avid hunter. He enjoyed woodworking, all Pittsburgh sports, and coaching baseball.
He is survived by five children, Gary Curfman and wife Diane of Chambersburg, Kay Lambros and husband Tony of Fallston, MD, Martin Curfman and wife Barbara of Chambersburg, Laurie Brown of Carlisle, and Robert Curfman and wife Sandy of Carlisle; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Norman Curfman and wife Carol of Mercersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Jane Nicholson will officiate. Interment in Lower Path Valley Cemetery will follow the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 W. Washington Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
