ROCKVILLE – William "Bill" Franklin Daugherty, 85, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. He was born June 1, 1940, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Frank Daugherty and Hazel Bohannon Daugherty.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sandra Walls Daugherty, whom he married September 21, 1963, in Rockville; one son, Michael (Michelle) Daugherty of Alaska; one granddaughter, Breanna (Steven) Katsonis of New Hampshire; one grandson, Aaron (Adam Delafield) Daugherty of Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Boston and Chase Katsonis.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Brooks, and two sisters, Janice Sheckells and Margo Goffinet.
He was a 1958 graduate of Leavenworth High School. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, during which time he also earned an associate's degree in communications.
Following his military career, he worked for Alaska USA Federal Credit Union in Anchorage Alaska. During his time in Alaska, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and hunting moose, caribou and deer. After retirement from the Credit Union, he and his wife would spend the winters in Arizona and summers at their cabin in Sterling Alaska.
He was a member of Nyesville Full Gospel Church.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at Nyesville Full Gospel Fellowship Church,1039 N Nyesville Rd, Rockville, IN 47872
