Alice Louise Thompson

Alice Louise Thompson, 81, of Rockville, passed away November 9, 2025, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Born February 4, 1944, in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of Glen Riggle and Christina Jenny Souther Riggle. She married Joseph Jon Thompson on November 14, 1964, in Beech Grove, Indiana, he survives her.
Alice graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1963. She was Head Hostess at Turkey Run Inn for 15 years and retired as Head Cashier from the Rockville IGA after 19 years. Alice attended Otterbein Community Church.
Alice is survived by her husband, Joe of Rockville; son, Solomon Ray Thompson (Jan) of Greencastle; and 3 grandsons, Joshua Thompson of Rockville, Michael Thompson of Rockville, and Nathan Thompson of Greencastle. She is also survived by a brother, Walter Riggle (Beva) of Urbana, Ohio; and 2 sisters-in-law, Patricia Thompson of Crawfordsville, and Pat Thompson of Terre Haute.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Lou Riggle; and infant daughter, Joy Ellen Thompson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 East High Street, Rockville, Indiana. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Dragan officiating. Burial will follow at Beacon Hill Cemetery, south of Rockville.
