William Davidson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home - Jacksonville on Apr. 5, 2024.
William "Bill" Harold Davidson, 88, of Kerr, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born August 19, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas to the late William Herbert Davidson and Iva Jane Rickett Davidson.
Not long after graduating from Mayflower High School, he joined the United States Air Force serving overseas in Germany and state-side in Louisiana as a Security Police Officer. After completing his military service, he returned to Arkansas and went to work for AFCO Metals, spending 41 years with the company. Bill was also a farmer and spent each season tending 40 acres of soybeans until dark:30 each day. In 2001 he finally retired to pursue his true passions; time with his family, tending his garden and pecan trees and hunting for a good deal at the flea markets. Bill was also a faithful longtime member of South Bend First Baptist Church.
In 1958, Bill married the love of his life, Dorothy Fitzhugh and started a life and a legacy that would span over 65 years of marriage in a Christ-centered home that was the loving foundation to four daughters, fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his father and mother, a brother, Dwight Davidson and a Son-in-Law, John Lavender.
Bill is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fitzhugh Davidson; Daughters, Lori Lavender, Pamela (Tony) Dunlap, Kimberly (Keith) Strange, Sara (Jeff) Fairchild;
Fourteen grandchildren - Lindsey (Grant) Lane, Zac Dunlap, Drew (Lauren) Lavender, Ryan (Madeline) Dunlap, Chase Dunlap, Tim Dunlap, Leah (Tanner) Canamore, Seth (Maddie) Strange, Whitney Dunlap, Blake Fairchild, Mikayla Strange, Paige Fairchild, Paisley Fairchild, Presley Fairchild;
Seven great-grandchildren – Bryley Dunlap, Lainey Lavender, Jonah Dunlap, Adalynn Lavender, Eli Dunlap, Norah Lane, Joshua Dunlap; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with burial to follow at Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
