William (Bill) Luther Davis, age 75 of Sugar Creek, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was born December 19, 1947 in Clinton, MO to Harold and Lorene (Snyder) Davis. It was love at first sight for Bill when he laid eyes on his future bride, Denna (Miller) Davis of Sugar Creek, MO. He knew at that moment he was going to marry her. He got his wish when they wed on April 22, 1967 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Independence, MO. In 1974, they moved to Sugar Creek, MO into her childhood home and raised their three daughters Joy, Kristy and Jeni.
Bill retired in 2008 from AT&T after 42 years of service. Bill was a member of St. Cyril's parish. He had a very active role in the community and served on many boards such as the Sugar Creek Fair Board, Planning and Zoning and Business and Civic Club. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and he had a love for hunting and fishing.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorene Davis and sister Beverly Bourdlais.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Denna Davis of the home, his three daughters Joy (Mark) Meisel of Leawood, KS, Kristy Spencer of Augusta, GA and Jeni Davis of Sugar Creek, MO along with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a sister Sheila Snyder.
