William Harold Davis, Sr., 82, of Albany, GA passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Oaks at Oakland Plantation. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. Private graveside services will be held.
Born in Cotton, GA, then raised in Thomasville, GA where he graduated from High School, Mr. Davis eventually moved to Albany, GA. He worked in the insurance business, first with Life of Georgia and then becoming an independent agent until he retired. He was then able to spend his time doing what he loved most which was anything outdoors: hunting, fishing, gardening, and yardwork. All these activities he performed with excellence, never quitting until the job was done.
Mr. Davis was known as "Pop" to his family whom he loved well. He was a true gentleman through and through. He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Davis and Thelma Williams Davis and a brother, Bo Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Raelene H. Davis, Crawfordville, FL, children, Billy Davis (Tracey), Lee Co.GA., Katrina Davis Chambless (Ralph), Dawson, GA, grandchildren, Victoria Cole (Trey), Alex Chambless, Nick Chambless, Landon Chambless, Taylor Davis, Tyler Davis, great-grandchildren, Vivian Cole and Arabella Cole.
The family will receive friends following the services at Mathews Funeral Home.
