Age 70, lifelong resident of Elliott, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, surrounded by his family after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Endlessly devoted husband to his "baby" and wife of 43 years, Lois V. (Justice) Dix. Loving dad of David (Jennifer) Dix and Donald Dix. Proudest pappy of Joseph Vincent Dix and Jace William Dix. Son of the late Joseph III and Martha Alice (Toal) Dix. Brother of Jim (Bonnie) Dix, Shirl (Pat) Joseph, and Alice (Joe) Dominijanni. Son-in-law of the late Donald M. and Lois V. (Sorg) Justice. Brother-in-law of John Robert "Bobby" (Cheryl "Chou") Bayerlein, Donald "Ding" Justice, Ronald "Ronnie" (Diane) Justice, Richard "Ricky" (Stacie) Justice, James "Rusty" (Sandy) Justice, Charles "Randy" (Thea) Justice, William Rodney "Homer" (Kim) Justice, Pierre "Perry" (Romi) Wilson, and the late George William "Billy" Bayerlein. Nephew to the late Russell (Mary-still surviving) Toal. Bill will be sadly missed by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bill loved to spend time at his camp "Hide-A-Way" in Kane, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, metal detecting, coin collecting, doing puzzles, and spending time with his family.
Friends received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th at ANTHONY G. STAAB FUNERAL HOME, INC., 900 Chartiers Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15220. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 10th at 10 a.m. in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish-Ss. Simon and Jude Church, 1607 Greentree Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
