William O. "Bill" Dugan

**CALLING HOURS AND THE FUNERAL SERVICE FOR WILLIAM DUGAN HAVE BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER **

William "Bill" O. Dugan, 68, died in his home on Hornby Rd in Corning, NY, on January 13, 2026.

Bill was born April 3, 1957, in Corning to Genevieve Wenderlich Dugan and James E. Dugan and was a long-time Corning resident.

He is survived by his sisters: Patricia Dugan (Roy Ernst), Judith Echols (Les Echols), Joan Wilson (Jim Wilson); and sister-in-law, Charlotte Dugan (James B. Dugan). Bill was a proud uncle to Stacy Vacca, Jennifer Dugan Echols, Erin Dugan Echols, Cory Dugan Pulver, and Patrick Dugan; and a great-uncle to 5 great-nieces and nephews. Bill also had a close friendship with Michelle Thomas, with whom he shared many adventures.

Bill enjoyed his employment at Advanced Auto in Horseheads for several years. He attended Corning schools. He lived and worked in various places in the United States, but he always considered Corning his home. With the help of the local Habitat for Humanity organization, Bill proudly bought his own home, which ended up being close to his favorite cousins and his father's birth home.

Bill enjoyed a lifelong interest and study of art, including at Corning Community College and while he lived in California. He will also be remembered for his love of cooking and especially of large quantities to share. He appreciated help along his life's journey and tried to give any help he could in return.

In his younger years, Bill participated in the Cohocton Fall Foliage Tree Sitting Contest. He won the first-place prize and was interviewed by Charles Kuralt for his national "On the Road" TV segment.

Additionally, Bill will be remembered and prayed for in a special way at the Parish Mass at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street, Corning, NY, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 12:15 pm.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, later at the family's convenience.

Memorials can be made in Bill's name to Bampa's House, 170 E. First Street, Corning, or Corning Habitat for Humanity, or All Saints Parish in Corning.
