William Dullea Obituary
William Dullea of Quincy, formerly of Milton and Braintree, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Bill was 75. Beloved brother of Mark and his wife Donna Qualters, Kathy and her husband Frank Hogan, and uncle to Micaela and Nick. Also survived by other nieces, nephews and cousins. Former husband of Christine Young. Son of Edward and Rose (Doherty) Dullea of Dorchester and Milton and nephew of Father Maurice Dullea, S.J. A Double Eagle, Bill graduated from B.C. High in 1966 and Boston College in 1970. He served in the National Guard after graduation. While working in insurance as a claims adjuster, he felt a legal background would be helpful in his work, so he attended New England School of Law in the evenings, earning his law degree in 1977. Bill started his own business, Dullea Claims Service, in Braintree, which he ran for a number of years. For several years he enjoyed being president of the Quincy Toastmasters Club. Walking, reading, and making puns were three of Bill's favorite pastimes, and he was an especially avid and knowledgeable sports fan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Alfred Thomas Funeral Home, 236 Granite Avenue, East Milton, to greet the family on Friday, August 16, during visiting hours at 10 a.m., with the funeral service to start at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rev. Maurice V. Dullea, S.J., Scholarship Fund, c/o Athletic Development, Boston College, Conte Forum, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
