Elizabeth Bell Obituary
Elizabeth F. Bell of Hyde Park died peacefully at 98 years old in her home. She was born and raised as one of nineteen children to Irish immigrants from Donegal Ireland. She grew up on Rutherford Avenue in Charlestown, Massachusetts. She attended St Mary's school and graduated from Charlestown High School. She fell in love with John Bell after many big band dances led them to become known as the infamous Jack and Betty. They were married and moved to their lifetime home Hyde Park in 1960 where she raised five children. She was mother to Diane Moriarty and her husband Michael, Elaine Moran and her husband Richard, Elizabeth Certo and her husband Russell, Kenneth Bell and his late wife Cheryl and John Bell. Elizabeth's legacy is further carried on through her grandchildren, Daniel and Deanna Moran, Brendan Moran, Richard and Sheryl Moran, Patrick and Kim Moran, Thomas Moran, Kaitlin Certo, John Russell Certo, Benjamin and Kathleen Certo, Dr. Emily Certo and Dr. Michael Coughlin, Courtney and Michael Walker, Brett Bell, and Thomas and Paulina Bell. Her heritage grew into a third generation with Emerson, Genevieve, Jack, Gwendolyn, Fiona, Declan, Sean, Madison, Lillie, Connor and Jamese.
To her grandchildren she was Nana Bell. Our nana was full of charm, always dressed to the nines with the best hats to top off every ensemble, with endless stories of her childhood embellished with drama and heroic themes that left us smiling and laughing. As a woman of short stature, she never let that slow her down from demanding a room. Nana was a woman of strength and stubbornness unheard of from her generation. Above all else she taught the women in her family how to make your own rules and allow your aspirations to be as big as can be.
Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Church, Milton Tuesday morning October 14th at 11:00. Visitation will be held in the church 1 hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will be private for the family.
