William "Bill" Einspahr passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, with his family gathered around him. He was born to Charles and Opal Einspahr on November 18, 1935, in Laramie, Wyoming, to a pioneering family who homesteaded north of Laramie. He started school in Laramie, and then the family moved to Oregon where his dad was a foreman in ship building during WW II.
Bill attended high school in Battleground, Washington. The high school put on a variety show where he learned to be an expert dancer, something he enjoyed for the rest of his life. The teacher, a retired military man, was very gifted at showing the young boys how to guide the girls across the dance floor. After high school, Bill served four years in the Air Force, one of which was in Greenland supporting the NATO defense system.
After he completed his military service, he attended the University of Wyoming. Among the college courses he enrolled in was an Art class where he excelled in everything from clay sculpture to pencil drawings. Bill met his wife, Edith "Edie" Langendorf, at the University of Wyoming. Bill and Edie were married in Walden, Colorado, on June 18, 1960. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years together.
Their first years together were spent in Laramie, Wyoming where Bill managed the family business, which later became U.S. Welding. Then he took up a career as a Brakeman for Union Pacific Railroad where he worked for 17 years. Using the drawings he designed while riding trains all those years from Cheyenne to Rawlins, Wyoming, he began designing their dream home that would later be built in Buena Vista, Colorado. After a debilitating back injury, Bill and Edie moved to Buena Vista, where they managed Vista Court for one year. Several years later, they purchased A + Delta Storage which started as a small storage unit business and, over the course of 35 years, has turned into what it is today.
During their years in Buena Vista, Bill served as the general contractor in the building of Mountain Heights Baptist Church. Later on, Bill and Edie joined Prison Fellowship where they taught a Tuesday night Life Skills class at the Buena Vista prison. They were an intricate part of the church services leadership, as well as family game night with the inmates at the Boot Camp.
Among Bill's hobbies and interests included watching football or the Denver Nuggets, woodworking, gardening, going for a drive that would often end as a picnic, and spending time with his family. If there is one thing everyone knew about Bill was his ability to fix almost anything. His wife never had a "honey-do list" because he just saw things that needed to be repaired and then went about doing it. He often created tools along the way and then he would say "I should patent this." Before long, someone beat him to it. After almost a 70-year hiatus, Bill's art interest was reignited at an art class offered at Good Samaritan. At the age of 88, Bill picked up a paintbrush and created many family heirlooms. Among his paintings, which will forever be treasured by family, are favorite pets, camping spots and other special memories.
Bill loved the Lord. He was a soldier for Christ as he led many people to the Lord by walking the walk. His faith-filled life was an example for many of his friends and family to follow.
He is survived by his wife, Edie, of
Loveland, Colorado, daughter Karen, son-in-law John, daughter Sandy, and daughter Kathy, son-in-law Pat. Bill was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Mark (Briana), Heather (Scott), Emily, Ryan, Melissa (Phil), Levi, Jessica (David) and Patrick (Tasha). He was also blessed with 8 great-children, Kimber, Brooke, Brayden, Chloee, Ariah, Brody, Kaisen, Landri, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Opal, a brother Dick, and 3 sisters, Irene, Evelyn and Shirley, and his special Aunt Velma Hixenbaugh. He was also preceded in death by a grandson Jacob "Jake" Johnson.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at the Chapel at Good Samaritan Village in Loveland, on November 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm. A private graveside service will follow at a later date.
