William Henry Ferguson passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Clarksville, TN. He was born July 15, 1940 in Dorena, MO to the late Alvis Ferguson and Florence Matthews Ferguson. William, who went by the name of Bill, lived in Clarksville, TN for over 48 years. He retired from the US Army and Civil Service after a combined 40 years of service.
On January 27, 1968 he married Gloria Kay Finley who survives him in death. Other survivors include his son, James (Lisa) Ferguson of Clarksville, TN and daughter, Donna (Ronald) Sheldon of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Brandon (Roxie) Ferguson, Kellen (Alicia) Ferguson, Riley Ashby, and Kayla Sheldon; great-grandchildren, Elsie Ferguson, Maddox Ferguson, Oaklie Ferguson, Rory Ferguson, Wednesday Ashby, and Mack Ferguson; his sisters, Pat Henry, Ruth (Richard) Layer, Brenda (Gilbert) Rundles, and Linda (Marty) Vied; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville, TN.
