William C. "Billy" Flowers

William C. "Billy" Flowers, age 87, of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away at home on December 8, 2025.
Born on June 6, 1938, in Atlanta, he lived a life marked by steady hands, sharp skill, and the quiet strength that defined him to everyone who knew and loved him.
Billy spent his career as a Pipe Fitter for Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies, where his work ethic and expertise earned deep respect from coworkers and friends alike. Outside of his professional life, he was known for his unmatched talent in building engines. Whether it was a motor that wouldn't run or an engine that needed to be coaxed into peak performance, Billy was the person people trusted. He had a gift for making machines do what they were supposed to do, and many said that watching him work was like watching a master at his craft. Drag racing, a passion rooted in both precision and adrenaline, was one of the many outlets where his mechanical genius shined. When he wasn't turning wrenches, he found calm and joy on the golf course.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Clara Flowers, and his brother, Robert Flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Flowers; his children, Tracy Flowers Baker and Corbin King (Kate); his grandchildren, Brittany Baker, Brandon Baker, and Trevor Howe; and his great-grandchild, Harper Stewart. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary, Loretta, Carolyn, Ann, Wayne, and Doug. To his family, Billy was a steady anchor-firm, dependable, and deeply loved. To his friends and those fortunate enough to cross his path, he was a man of quiet capability whose presence carried weight without a single boast.
A graveside service will be held on December 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lilburn, Georgia.
Billy's life was shaped by hard work, loyalty, and a mastery of skills most people only hope to understand. His legacy lives on in the countless engines he brought to life, the stories shared by those who admired him, and the family who will forever carry his memory forward.
