William L. Frakes, Sr. 53, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth. 

Bill was born October 5, 1970 in Macomb, IL, the son of David L. and Martha (Bloyd) Frakes.  He was raised and educated in Roseville, graduating from Roseville High School with the Class of 1988. 

Bill married Stephanie Ward in Monmouth on November 24, 2004. 

Bill owned and operated Frakes Construction for many years. 

He loved spending time with his son, William Jr. “Bubba” and his dog, Spike (cheese dog). He enjoyed fishing, tinkering in his garage and telling elaborate stories. 

Survivors include his son, William L. Frakes Jr.; his mother, Martha Frakes; step-daughters, Mackenzie Burkett and Morgan Holeman; stepson, Dalton Holeman; 2 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; his sister, Dottie Frakes all of Monmouth; brother, Arlie (Debbie) of Galesburg; numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father and 2 brothers, Robert Frakes and David Frakes, Jr. 

Memorial services will be 3:00 pm, Monday, February 26, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to William L. Frakes Sr. Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home or a donation to assist the family with the funeral expenses may be made using the link listed below.
