William Vincent Frederick, a beloved figure in the lives of all who knew him, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in his hometown of Louisville, KY. Born on August 30, 1933, he was a proud graduate of St. Xavier High School and dedicated over 40 years of his life working as a carpenter. His craftsmanship was a testament to his hardworking nature and deep commitment to quality.

William served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he earned several medals and commendations, including the National Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal. His service to his country was a source of immense pride, reflecting his loyalty and dedication.

In addition to his professional life, William was an extraordinary family man. He was a loyal husband to his beloved wife, Ruth Ann Frederick, and a loving father to his children: Elizabeth Mary (Jeffrey) Townley, the late Brian Joseph Frederick (Rita), Gregory William (Kristina) Frederick, Daniel Lloyd (Malinda) Frederick, and James Wallace (Susan) Frederick. He cherished each moment spent with his family, marveling at the joy of watching them grow and thrive. His legacy continues through his 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his spirit and values.

An active member of his community, William was deeply involved in youth activities. He served as a Scoutmaster for Troop 175 at St. Edwards, coached basketball and youth sports, and was known for his commitment to local initiatives. For 64 years, he was a devoted member of St. Edward's, forming lifelong friendships that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.

In his free time, William was passionate about model railroading, a hobby he truly enjoyed. He also had a love for sports, particularly volleyball, where he earned the nickname "Stormin' Norman." His warm-hearted personality and compassionate spirit made a lasting impact on everyone he met. William was a constant source of encouragement, guidance, and support, always ready to help or lend a listening ear.

William joins his father, William Joseph Frederick, his mother, Mary "Tootie" E. Frederick, and his son, Brian Joseph Frederick, in eternal peace. He is remembered fondly by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering loyalty.

A visitation will be held on July 11, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Following the service, William will be laid to rest at Cave Hill Cemetery & Arboretum at 1:00 PM.
