William Bradley "Brad" Gaddy, age 75, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida.
Born on January 1, 1950, in Phoenix, Arizona, Brad spent the majority of his life in the Southwest before moving to New York in 2010 and eventually settling in Florida in 2016. He graduated from South Mountain High School in 1968, where he was celebrated for his exceptional talent in track and field. Among his many athletic accomplishments, Brad proudly placed second in the long jump at the state level-a testament to his dedication and competitive spirit. On March 6, 1971, he married Susan Willkomm with whom he had his daughter Jennifer. Although their marriage did not continue, their friendship remained.
Brad built a long and respected career as a meat cutter, working at numerous Basha's stores throughout the Phoenix area, where he made many life-long friends. His hard work and leadership earned him the position of Meat Department Manager at Basha's Food City, where he retired in 2009 after years of dedicated service.
Beyond his professional life, Brad was a man of many passions. He grew up surrounded by horses and dogs and developed a lifelong love for nature and animals. His hobbies were as diverse as they were heartfelt-he found joy in jewelry making, cutting and polishing stones into beautiful bolo ties, earrings, rings, and especially turquoise pieces. He loved boating and fishing-particularly from his pontoon boat docked just behind his home on the canal leading to the Indian River Intercoastal Waterway. Hunting trips, tinkering with tools or gadgets, baking treats for loved ones, roaming the Arizona desert collecting old bottles and rocks-all brought him great satisfaction. Brad also had a green thumb and took pride in caring for plants. He enjoyed playing pool and had an eye for craftsmanship that showed through everything he touched. And, of course, he loved his bourbon.
In recent years, Brad found deep fulfillment reconnecting with friends from high school and his days at Food City. He cherished these conversations as well as the friendships formed within the Fairlane Harbor community where he lived for the past eight years.
Having met in Mesa, Arizona, Brad shared a loving partnership of 26 years with Nancy Cservak-the love of his life-whom he cared for deeply and devotedly. Their journey together took them across states but always centered around family and compassion. In 2010 they relocated to Wappingers Falls, New York, and then on to Vero Beach, Florida in 2016 to care for Nancy's mother Marian until her passing in 2022. Brad's gentle nature shone brightly during this time; he lovingly granted Marian's every wish with patience and grace, and they adored each other.
He is survived by Nancy; his children Jennifer Gaddy-Woodson (Ryan Padgett), Timothy Joshua Gaddy (Beth), and Nathan Stewart (Karen); grandchildren Trystan, Sienna, Trenton, Hailey, Noah, Aaron, Matthew, Haylee, and Avery; niece Anita Seal (Ken) and nephew Lorin Hobbs (Barbara); along with many beloved cousins. He held a special bond with his sister Nelda McDaniel. Through Nancy, he was also blessed with a melded family: her children Brian Cservak (Merita), Jason Cservak (Lesley), Jolene Cservak-Bollen (Eric), Kim Cservak, and their children Brian Jr., Kelsey, Karly-and extended family members across the country who held him dear.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents Jenell and Lloyd Gaddy, and aunt and uncle Ida Mae and Billy Howard Furgerson.
A man of quiet strength with a warm heart and sharp wit, Brad will be remembered fondly by all who knew him-for his kindness, creativity, humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Arrangements are under the direction of All County Funeral Home & Crematory. Per Brad's wishes, there will be no funeral or calling and cremation is planned. A Celebration of Life open to all will be held at 10 AM, November 22, 2025, in the Fairlane Harbor Clubhouse, 1500 Indian River Blvd, Vero Beach, FL.
