Webster: William J. Gajewski, 68, passed away on Monday, April 1st, at Harrington Healthcare at Webster, after a sudden illness.
He leaves his longtime companion of 30 years, Carol Barrette; his three children, William Gajewski of Boston, Joseph Gajewski of Webster and Georgeanne Gajewski of Webster; his brother, Thomas P. Gajewski and his wife Mary of Dudley; his nephew, Thomas J. Gajewski and his wife Jess; his two nieces, Melanie Gajewski and Nicole Gajewski and her partner Sean Fontaine; his great niece and nephew, Alma and Gage; and his close cousin, Ken Gajewski of Sturbridge. He also leaves his three beloved Leonberger dogs, Zoe, Dunstan and Thatcher. Bill was born in Southbridge the son of the late Joseph A. and Regina H. (Travinski) Gajewski. He was a graduate of Southbridge High School and received his bachelors degree from Boston College.
Bill was a real estate entrepreneur, he and his brother Tom were owners and operators of Gajewski Real Estate for over 30 years. He was a very athletic person, he enjoyed running, snow skiing and playing golf. He was a track star while in school and held records in track at both Southbridge High School and Boston College.
A funeral Mass for Bill will be held on Saturday, April 6th, at 10:00am at St. Louis Church, 15 Lake St., Webster. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours will be held in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, on Friday, April 5th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd., East Brookfield, MA 01515.
